INTERVIEW WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATE OF CHILDHOOD, ADOLESCENCE AND FAMILY OF THE PROVINCE OF RIO NEGRO

We interviewed the Secretary of Childhood, Adolescence and Family, B.C. Roxana Méndez, months after her assumption. Such position is innovative in the ground of public policies about infancies and adolescences in the province of Rio Negro due that formerly, the institution in charge of outline and execute those policies was the Ministry of Social 

Development. The project to create the SeNAF was sent by the governor Alberto Weretilnek and approved by Viedma ́s Legislature unanimously on September 21st 2017 and endorsed as a law on October 2nd 2017 modifying the law of ministries. Thus,
jurisdictions that belonged to the ministry were transferred to the new Secretary, who has direct dependency on the governor and has the rank of ministry. In that occasion we had the opportunity of interviewing the secretary of SeNAF and discuss about the effects of these institutional changes, the scenario she found and the current challenges.
